Project GRAD Identified as a Program that Works

Texas Education Agency,
Best Practices for Dropout Prevention

ICF International and the National Dropout Prevention Center/Network prepared a study for the Texas Education Agency and found that Project GRAD is one of three programs that have the most potential for success in Texas and “demonstrate consistent, positive, and meaningful effects across more than one outcome.” Project GRAD was the only intervention out of 21 studied to post a “meaningful” effect size on reading proficiency. In mathematics GRAD was one of two programs that produced data on math proficiency demonstrating meaningful effect and posted the strongest effects.

Business-Higher Education Forum

StrategicEdSolutions, a project by the Business-Higher Education Forum (BHEF), has named Project GRAD as one of only four education programs identified as a “Program that Works” in supporting student opportunity and access for underserved students in elementary, middle, and high school. The BHEF, in partnership with AIR, reviewed over 200 education programs for inclusion in StrategicEdSolutions.org, and only those with the strongest evidence for success are included.  BHEF’s StrategicEdSolutions is a new online resource center that provides strategies, tools, and successful programs to help corporations and others make strategic investments in education. The site also provides an interactive forum for corporations and foundations to share best practices to maximize the impact of their education philanthropy.
